Immerse yourself in this collaboration of paintings and sound at Somerton Art S P A C E this Autumn. 'Northland' explores ideas of solitude, geographical remoteness, and wider climate issues. Not intended to depict any one region the exhibition presents imaginary desolate landscapes affected by climate change that nevertheless offer sanctuary and a sense of belonging. The paintings speak to the human condition and how we as individuals navigate the world, how we create identity and interact with our surroundings. The sound accompanying the visual art balances a sense of large open spaces with small closely recorded sound providing an intimate connection to landscape.
